Church without walls/A sojourner's fellowship

and Potluck

Ashland, OR

William Hayes started the potluck in June of 2003, year-around every Sunday, at the Historic Gazebo in Lithia Park, Ashland, OR.  Many helpers came and went over the years, including Scott Spalding who helped from 2004-2010, Deanna Chambers from 2005-2010, Roberta who started in October 2007, Mark in July 2008, and Greg in March 2011.  When William and Roberta left for Colorado in 2013, it was left in the hands of Mark and Greg.  We held a Community Potluck every Sunday until it closed down November 23, 2013.  The purpose of the community potluck was to build up God's people and get them involved in their community.  Our specific goal was to to evangelize and to strengthen the poor through fellowship and compassion.

As part of our ministry we started: Church Without Walls, A Sojourner's Fellowship, on Easter 2011.  We met every Sunday at 4:30 (3:30 winter) with a Teaching of the Word, Music, and the Gospel Message.   This too closed down in November.  We would love to see someone pick this up again and continue a very important role in the community.

Summer 2013

The CWW Potluck in the park has been blessed every Sunday with an abundance of food. God supplies our needs. There is always enough, and when there are leftovers, there are needs filled by them. God has been so faithful in that area that we do not worry about it.  We walk by faith and we are free to focus on the more important aspects of the Church:  preaching the Truth, teaching the Way, praying and ministering to those in need.

Sometimes the food donations come in seasons; like for awhile, we had a lot of deli food and that stopped.  Then we were getting donations from Wal-mart. Who could forget all the Amy's soups and pizzas?   Lately we have been getting a lot of beans and rice donated by Senior Sams.   Some of the regulars are getting their "fill" lol.   We mix it up with different things to keep it from getting boring.  Ben and his wife, Patricia, have been heating up tortillias and bringing condiments for awesome burritos.

New comers never notice any repetitions and mostly, we get raves about our food and that nobody else's compares.  We know this season will end and it will be something else for awhile (several kinds of potatoes?)   In any case, God's will be done, even if it gets to the point of just serving a pot of soup and some bread.  The focus will always be the preaching of the truth. The whole point is to reach the community with the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and how they too can enter in through God's Son, Jesus Christ, thanks to His death burial and resurrection.

If your in the area and would like a free meal stop, in and say hi.
If your looking for a body of believers to fellowship with, we would love to have you.
If your looking for a rewarding way to serve, please prayerfully consider Church Without Walls, a Sojourners Fellowship.

See you Sunday.

In Christ, Pastors Mark and Greg
